Q--I have a Pontiac Grand Prix GT Coupe. It has a cloth interior with a six-way power bucket seat. I like the car, but the seat is not comfortable. It doesn’t have enough padding and doesn’t give enough support in the leg area. The seats are also very narrow for a six-foot-tall, 200-pound person. Do you know someone who makes an aftermarket seat that would fit my car and be more supportive and comfortable?
A--At the risk of sounding rude, didn’t you test-drive the car before you bought it? If the seats didn’t fit you then, they wouldn’t get any better. Nevertheless, you do have some options. If you are looking for support, check into a Recaro seat. The company makes them for racing and they fit well and are firm. If you like leather, check out the Katzkin seats which come in a variety of contours and profiles. Sparco also makes seats that may better fit your body. Look for specialty automotive stores in your phone book.
